Prayer & Meditation Week Four
Written by Jodie McMullen
Below you will find both an audio and written version of this week’s guided prayer activity. Feel free to use either or both in whatever way fits your daily life best!
(audio coming December 22nd)
Is there a place you love coming back to again and again?
Maybe it's your favorite coffee shop, a beloved park, or just a well-worn chair by the window.
Consider visiting this place again today, and let it remind you of God's love that pursues you over and over.
Sit in silence and remember the ways God has loved you in the past week before praying the prayer below.
Lord,
It’s easy to lose my way, to miss your guideposts and head the wrong direction. You know I am a creature of habit who has done it “again.” I do the same things, I fall the same way. Whether I’m being stubborn or just not paying attention - the farther and longer I wander can make turning back feel shameful. And yet all the while you are also a God of “again’s.” You will draw us back again. You build us up again. Your unfailing kindness covers us again.
During this Advent season, Lord, we anticipate the celebration of Christ’s birth and we receive the invitation to return to you again. We praise you for declaring your everlasting love over us Again and Again through Jesus.
Thank you for calling us to you.
Amen.
